At The W5 Ranch, most of our breeding program revolves around creating birds that:

a) Lay a kaleidoscope of shell colors

b) Have fun & unique feather patterns

c) Are high-production egg layers

From our coops, you can expect birds that lay a variety of blue, green, brown, dark brown, and speckled eggs.

Moss Egger

Olive Eggers are our F2+ generation Olives, back-crossed to one of our dark layer Roosters. This darkens the green tint and often adds some speckling.

Some Olive eggers will throw a brown egg. We always recommend getting more than one to make sure you do get a green or moss egg)!

Easter Egger

Easter Egger is an umbrella term used to describe crossbred birds designed to lay a blue, or light green egg, 10% of EE will lay pink/buff tinted eggs.

Speckle Egger

Speckled Eggers lay light to dark shades of brown eggs with dark speckling. These are currently in our project pen while we work to continue improving the lines.

Zombie

Zombies are a fun and unique cross utilizing the fibromelanistic gene that creates black skin, waddles, and combs. They feather out white with heavy to light black/gray splashing. They truly do look a bit like the walking dead! Zombies lay a light tan/off white egg.

W5 Rainbow

Our version of a "barnyard mix". We cross our top-production egg layers with the most vibrant feather patterns to create all-stars that lay large brown eggs year-round and some of the coolest feather patterns you can get.

Coming Soon:

Cream Lebar, Opal Legbar, Splash Amarucana, Laced Zombie, Black Copper Maran, and White Silkie, as well as a couple W5 Exclusives: black Laced Zombie, and Buffbar.
